About us

GolfinSpain.com was a pioneer in its sector, the first golf-themed website in Spain and one of the first in the world. The project and the company were set up in 1995 by Jose Luis Moya.

Golf in Spain® is a trademark registered to a limited company established in 1995 with headquarters in Malaga: El Sur Existe.

We offer all kinds of golf-related services, mostly online and with our proprietary reservation system. We form part of a corporate group whose main focus is the tourism sector (Marina Sun Travel) and advertising communication (alsur.es).

Over 300 contracts and agreements

Since the year 2000 we have operated as a wholesale-retail travel agent (C.I.AN 29774-2) with all the legal guarantees that the SpanishLaw of Combined Trips (Ley de Viajes Combinados) provides to clients of travel agencies, including a civil liability bank guarantee of up to €180,000.

Generally, we operate via direct contracts with golf courses, hotels and companies that offer services in the sector, which together total more than 300. Only occasionally do we market hotel services via accommodation wholesalers.

A decade and a half of experience

The objective of both our management system and reservations staff is of offer you the best product available quickly and efficiently.

Our systems have already handled more than 150,000 golf reservations and our list of clients exceeds 30,000 both from within Spain as well as most countries around the world, in the more than a decade and a half that we have been operating.

British Airways Holidays

For three years we were the ground handlers in Spain for the largest golf tour operators in Britain and still today one of the standard bearers in the sector.

Ryder Cup '97

Our first online golf packages offered in 1996 took off due to the 1997 Ryder Cup in Valderrama. We were the only website in the world to market the event online thanks to a contract with the Ryder Cup Accommodation Bureau (Byron Travel). We also broadcasted live via internet from Valderrama.

World Golf Championship - American Express

The same thing happened in 1999 and 2000 with the World Golf Championships - American Express Championship. For this our role involved image management and marketing for both events in Spain for the Federation Event – an affiliate of America's PGA.

Volvo Masters 2003 - 2008

Since 2003 Volvo Masters contracted us to manage the promotion and marketing of the tournament (through alsur.es) as well as for the exclusive management of advance ticket sales, travel packages and transfers for the most prestigious and longest-running (20 years) European Tour event in Spain. We maintained an uninterrupted relationship with Volvo Event Management for this event until 2009.

Volvo World Match Play

Following the event's change of venue to Finca Cortesin and the incorporation of IMG Golf, we were again responsible for the tournament's promotion and for advance ticket sales for the first event in 2009.
