Englishman Paul Casey, southafrican Retief Goosen, colombian Camilo Villegas and australian Robert Allenby will participate in the Volvo World Match Play that will take place from the 29th of October to the 1st of November in Finca Cortesín, Casares.
After the PGA and with the new classification system introduced this year by Volvo and IMG, we have the first set of confirmed classified players from the world ranking, who cover 6 regions. Of these six, it's now confirmed who will be the european, african, latinamerican and australasian representatives, although who will play for North America and Asia is still uncertain. The classified players would be Tiger Woods and Yan Yong-eun (nice match play that would be!!), however it seems unlikey they will confirm. In the case of Tiger, his fixed earnings  make it almost impossible, and in the case of the korean, the Barclays Singapore Open might be a more important commitment.
Of the spanish players, Garc√≠a, Fernandez-Casta√Īo and Quir√≥s have the most possibilities, with the handicap that Sergio will not play European Tour events until October or until he finishes his participation in the Fedex Cup. Whatever the case, the results during the following weeks will be decisive for them to be able to attend the tournament: either through the second qualifying round via the world classification on September 28th (this would be the case for Sergio if he maintains on the FedEx playoffs) or by position in the Race to Dubai on October 5th, which the three could very well achieve.
