Pedro Linhart
Born to an American couple in Las Palmas, Pedro Linhart
spent his early years as a professional playing mini-tour events
in the US. He became a Spanish national in the 1980s and gained
his European Tour card at his second Qualifying School attempt in
1993. He made steady progress for the first three seasons but had
to return to the school in 1997 and 1998. There was no risk of a
repeat appearance in 1999, however, because in March he held off
veteran Mark James to win his first tour title - the Madeira Island
Open. Unfortunately, that was the only highlight of an otherwise
indifferent year, and he finished 91st in the order of merit.
He missed most of the 2000 season through injury, and is still trying
to secure a return to the main tour.
