One of the most remarkable facts of the Volvo Masters is that the public is allowed up close with the protagonists of the event, the pros. There is no other event in the tour that can be experienced on such an intimate and accessible level.
The end of an era
The XXI edition of the Volvo Masters will be the last tournament held in Europe in the format of “champions of champions”. In 2009 the tournament will change format and host (Volvo Match Play at Finca El Cortesin) and will be played for the last time this year on the best continental Europe’s course, Valderrama. A memorable course which hosted many incredible golf moments, including the Ryder Cup victory of 1997.
