2.25 Very pretty, but close to crazy golf. Too many narrow windy fairways squeezed into an beautiful piece of land which isn't really meant for golf.
The course was in poor condition, but, to be fair, the weather had been terrible.
Nice enough club house with decent food, and the staff, including the starter, were professional.

4 I've played this course a few times now and it blows the likes of La Cala, Santana, etc away. Those courses are excellent but this is unique. Where would you find a pine forest on the banks of the southern Mediterranean? Search me but it's there and the course takes you on a journey through it.
The first time I played (2 years ago) the greens were a bit ropey but the last time (May 2011) they were not from this planet. It was like putting on crushed velvet. I doubt there are better greens anywhere on this Earth.
The course is a challenge even off the yellows but some of the holes are jaw dropping, one in particular, the 8th I think, is an elevated teebox and a dog leg right with the whole fairway lined by huge pine trees. It's like a white knuckle ride at a them park when you're teeing off. Mesmerising.
Club house is classy and welcoming as is the pro shop.
Doubt there are better practice facilities elsewhere on the course. Practice greens are of the same quality as those on course.
Well done El Chaparral. I have a holiday home nearby and whilst there are closer clubs to me (Torrequebrada) El Chap has a place in my heart. I'd like to take up there 'part year' membership scheme just to be a part of it when I'm over there.

4.25 Just go there
I played it in april this year. THe starter said as we went along; be carefull chaps, it's a championship course. He was right about that. I lost count og balls swallowed but still it was a true pleasure playing the round. Ranked in top 3 in my portefolio. A must play course

4.25 Great course for handicaps under 22 or straight hitters. Fun, specially the second or third time you play it.

4 Nice combination of 6 x Par 5, ^ x Par 4 and 6 X Par 3. Don't be fooled by thinking it's easy because of par 3s. Plenty of variety to challenge the golfer.
