It is always a pleasure to come back to Atalaya. We played the New course as the Old was under maintenance, which we knew in advance. The New course is fun to play. I think the Par 3s are interesting, challenging and varied enough that they stick in the memory. And the Par 5 18th is a great finishing hole. Seating for food and that well earned drink at the end were limited, due to ongoing refurbishment work, but the food and service were excellent in what must be difficult conditions for the staff. Looking forward to returning to Atalaya so that we can play the Old course again, and see the results of all the work in the clubhouse.

Very well managed with great training facilities. I was impressed seeing that. Course demanding but „friendly” in a very good condition. We enjoy to play here a lot.

The scores I gave are not very good but to be honest the scores reflect the worst parts of the experience. Course condition was not very good especially the greens. Because they were resodded they were very inconsistent with patches of sand and really bouncy (not hard but literraly like a trampoline). The reception, caddymaster and people in the restauramt were excellent. The starter however was a disgrace. Didn't even bother to stand to greet us and not very respectful.

We were dissappointed by the overall condition. Greens had no grass, fairways were ropey and tee boxes overgrown It's a shame because it has the potential to be a beautiful course. The layout is good making it a fair test for both long and short holes. For the money, it's not up to par.

Atalaya Golf Club is a glaring example of a golf destination resting on its laurels, relying solely on its location and reputation to attract visitors while neglecting the very basics of service and quality. Let’s start with the staff: it’s abundantly clear that guest experience is not a priority here. From the clubhouse to the course marshals, there’s little to no effort made to ensure players feel welcome or valued. The attitude seems to be, “You’re here, so we don’t need to try.” It’s disappointing, especially considering the premium price tag. As for the courses, the Old Course is decent—perhaps even enjoyable on a good day. It has some charm and history, which might justify its place in the area’s golf scene. However, the New Course is a complete disaster. Poorly maintained, uninspired in design, and with fairways and greens that feel like an afterthought, it’s a waste of time and money. It’s as if they’ve given up on even trying to make it respectable. What’s frustrating is that they continue to raise prices while letting the quality slip. There’s no investment in maintaining or improving the courses, no care in the details that make a golf experience special, and no effort to create an atmosphere where guests feel appreciated. In summary, Atalaya Golf Club is a disappointment. While the Old Course might be worth a round, the lack of service, the deteriorating standards, and the abysmal state of the New Course make it hard to recommend. There are far better options in the region that offer both quality and hospitality—this isn’t one of them.

Informed at the course that my tee time was earlier than the one i had booked which meant that i was a bit rushed as didn't know the layout had been changed around since i last played there - back 9 now the front 9. Despite this the round was enjoyable with course generally in a good condition

They have two courses: The old course is very nice and in best condition. Super. The new course is bad. Der ball rollt auf den schräglagen in kombination mit sehr kurzem gras auf den fairways einfach irgendwohin den hang herunter. Der platz ist überdies wenig gepflegt. Ich werde den new course niemandem empfehlen.

we played the new course - take a buggy - it's 1 km to tee 1 and hilly; a nasty course - lots of undulated fairways, which means: if you don't hit the flat side or get the ball stopped there (almost impossible for amateurs), the ball rolls into nasty parts - that kills score and fun. The greens are hard and quick - so don't even hope to play your handicap. The putting green for exercises had long seen better times.. for short: we would not play it twice...

Very quick and hard greens, almost impossible to get a pitched ball stopped playing as an amateur; very, very uneven fairways - the ball often runs away and your next stand for hitting the ball might be awful. Conclusion: if you don't play dead straight and know your distances precise - it's not amusing

No buggy required, you can walk it! It's a proper golf course and off the back tees measures over 7000 yards, so suitable for very good golfers. It's a good layout with a variety of holes, straight, dogleg left, dogleg right, long, short etc. And I've played here several times and is always in good condition. The 18th hole is the let down and needs digging up.

I think the golf course is great, I have been playing at Atalaya Golf & Country Club for many times and it was great. The greens is well maintained and the view of the new course is breath-taking! I definitely will come here more often in future and I definitely recommend this place to every golf player in Marbella and surroundings

Played the New course last week. Course in good condition and the greens are running true. It had rained hard in the preceding couple of days but the course drained well and there were very few soggy spots. Have played here previously (18 months ago) and the course has stayed in tip top condition. The 16th and 17th holes have been changed (for the better in my view). Not a super difficult course for the mid handicapper - there is a mix of tricky holes that you would not find back home (hole 5 with a steeply tilted and split fairway; hole 6 where it is difficult to see the landing ground from the tee) as well as some short holes or ones that have been squashed in between Old Course holes (eg Hole 18). Clubhouse is nice with a lovely upstairs balcony for the bar. Worth a visit for a holiday golfer with a mid handicap.

Played the New Course in late September which was in good condition and generally enjoyable layout. It is fairly short with 6 short par 4s, ie less than 300 yards which are driveable for any long hitter. First tee is about half mile from the clubhouse so although course not too hilly so definitely recommend using a buggy.

Played Old course on 24th Sept. Fairways a little sratchy and needed some attention. Greens good. Fairly flat course with plenty of room to overshot the landing areas and recover. Quite busy on day we were there. Walked around and not too streesful on the legs. Buggy not essential. Played better courses in area but this would suit a high handicaper perfectly.

Back a week after to play the Old Course which is a very walkable course so buggy not necessary. Course in good condition with lots of lovely trees lining the fairways. Good variety of holes. Not overly long although a couple of tough par 3s and 5s! A number of raised greens so accuracy with irons needed to score well. An enjoyable round with good value food and drink available after.

Played the new course for a reasonable price. Would recommend a buggy as quite a way to the 1st tee. Course in ok condition (bit brown on some of the tees) but greens good and true. Played to 2 user my handicap (15) so always a reason to enjoy.

Played twice in Sept 2011. Charming and established course, decent test, well maintained all round, friendly staff. Fantastic price after 4pm. Don't be fooled by the lack of shiny marble and gold entrance hall, this place was everything you could want from a golf course. 6 h'capper.
