Torrequebrada is the best of the bunch as far as we all were concerned. It was in amazing condition and a joy to play. Loved the 12 minute gap between tee times.

Torrequebrada is my favourite golf course in Spain and I can’t think of a course I like more. The secret is the variety of the holes and the spectacular landscape. It’s a technical challenge compared to most other golf courses and probably needs to be played more than once to get the best out of your game. My only small gripe was the greens this time. I’ve played the course many times over the years and the surfaces weren’t up to their normal wonderful condition. I’m sure this will be rectified through maintenance and two greens were re sculpted recently so those two were good in relation to the time they’ve been in use. Nothing here will stop me from returning in the future as it’s the best course for miles and vastly underrated.

Best course we played during our week away, from the welcome at the pro shop, the starter explaining what was expected and to keep up with the pace of play, 4 hours and 10 minutes and we felt we never seen another group out on the course, golf as it should be. Course was pleasant great views, great condition and not too difficult, great finishing hole. Refreshments afterwards in the clubhouse which was stunning, service top notch and the food looked great, we didn’t eat but we almost did when we seen the club sandwiches. You should give this place a visit if you’re in the area, decent.

Torrequebrada has been my favourite course in Spain for years and if I had to play one course for the rest of my life this would be it! It’s without doubt the most underrated course on the Costa del Sol and is as good as anything further down the coastline towards Marbella and beyond towards Sotogrande.
The general criticism over the years has been about the approach of the team at the club but I get it. They do their job properly in terms of attire and speed of play. I always have great conversations with them in isolation from the golf itself.
I recently played Quadahorce with the intrigue of it being selected for the grand final of the Ladies Tour but the experience was spoiled by the lack of a course marshall. Torrequebrada can never be accused of this and they should never be criticised for their approach in telling people about their pace of play.
The course is simply spectacular and is on very undulating but totally fair terrain. Most will take a buggy but I’ve always loved walking it to soak up the atmosphere and views.
I played it in mid November and it was the best condition I’ve seen it for many years.
It’s a very technical course where distance control is premium but there is true satisfaction in par.
It’s one of the best finishes to a course I know and the aspect of the 18th both from the tee and the veranda is stunning. There are too many great holes to mention but the 16th is the unwritten signature hole and it’s a proper test from the white tee.
In summary, to miss Torrequebrada is a golfing sin! Please go and savour this classic!

I was prevented from playing Torrequebrada by a rather unpleasant Receptionist / Pro shop Clerk. My wife had joined me to watch from the buggy, she was wearing long trousers (not joggers) and a plain coloured fleece jacket (the type seen in winter on most UK courses) the 'Pro' (which I doubt) would not let her on the course unless she bought an expensive golf shirt with a collar to wear under her jacket. He was rude to my wife (obnoxious really) and it was very embarrassing and totally unnecessary and we decided to leave, rather to be dealt with in such a poor way. To be fair the Caddy Master and staff were shocked and tried to change the situation and were extremely apologetic and nice to my wife, but what a horrible experience with a very unpleasant man
Anyway, I sent this story to the Golf in Spain staff just for info. I did not expect anything, it was my choice to walk away, however, disappointingly, I never even received and acknowledgement of receipt from them.
All very disappointing really

I have been going to Torrequebrada for over 30 years… and for a reason. It’s my favourite course, maybe anywhere. I’ve seen it through highs and lows through that time but it’s good to know that it’s been superb in recent years. Highly recommend it against the more resort type courses you see these days..enjoy!

I have played Torrequabrada many times over the years and consider it my favourite course in Spain. On this occasion the greens and fairways were not up to their usual standard but this may have been due to the drought being experienced in the area. I love the layout and some of the holes are spectacular. The slightly dissappointing condition will not put me off playing it next time I'm in the area.

Torrequebrada was the first course I played in Spain and have been coming back every year since. Condition is not always the best but nothing bad. Greens can be a bit soft but that’s the type of soil they’re built on. Very busy course and can be a bit slow at times but to be fair the ranger keeps things moving along. This one is always on our list and will continue to be. Catering and staff very good

Played on 27 Oct. Greens extremely poor condition. Foot prints, especially around the holes. All in all made putting a lottery. Some fairways and some of the rough had been spiked and was extremely fluffy in places (our group lost a ball just into into the rough). Maybe the time of year as we have played this course several times before but in May and have not had any issues then. Fyi my son plays of 2.3 so we know what good greens should be like.

On arrival we were pleasantly surprised. On entering the pro shop to register for our pre-booked tee time we were again pleased by a well stocked shop and professional looking set up. We had already booked one buggy and requested to pay for a second buggy so that our 2 wives would be able to accompanying us. We were advised that this wouldn't be a problem because the course was quiet. They are non golfers but just wanted to spend the day with us to take in the views. HOWEVER, we were then asked if they were correctly dressed! They were not dressed in golfing attire but were dressed sympathetically for the environment.
In 40 years of playing golf I have never been so embarrassed! They were told that because one was wearing sandals and the other had no collar to their top they would not be allowed to go onto the course!! As non golfers was this really a problem? Surely some discretion could be afforded to those, who would after all, only be sat in a buggy! Despite my objection this was non negotiable, but if they wanted they could buy suitable clothing in the shop! We were planning to eat at the club after our game but, because of this, decided against it and advised the receptionist of this. We had to play the course because our green fees had been prepaid, but would have walked away if this had not been the case.
It embarrassed me, my golfing partner and our wives for no reason. After our wives had left to do their own thing for the remainder of the afternoon we then went to the driving range where we saw other ladies in attire which was similarly questionable! Our game was affected by this decision, and the club probably lost +/- 200 euros through our forced change of intentions! The course was in unbelievable condition and really well manicured, and we couldn't fault our golf experience. BUT, for the reason above I'd never recommend the course to others. We were felt like we just weren't welcome and it spoilt the day for all of us. I'm not surprised that the course was quiet!

The course itself was in good shape and it has a enjoyable and good layout to the holes. One of the best in that respect among the course i've played on Costa del Sol. Greens are fast and true with the ball rolling where you set it to go, The fairways are green and nice. The same are the tees. Bunkers are also well manicured and nicely kept.
The servicelevel I experienced on Torrequebrada is the worst I have ever experienced on a golf course around the world !!!! I have never seen anything worse. !!!! The staff in this club couldn't care less about their customers. You're not at all feeling welcome as a player at Torrequebrada, but rather given the feel of disturbing the staff working there. My experience with the staff there are that they are arrogant, unfriendly and generally grumpy.
On my visit on Torrequebrada I had booked my tee-time at 8.00. Like on most other clubs you need to pay greenfee in advance of teeing up the ball. On Torrequebrada they opened the proshop at 08.15 (the guy working was probably a bit to late). When finally opening the proshop he asked "what do you want?". This was of course done in the most arrogant way possible.
After my sound I had a question reardding my greenfee and approched the proshop (wouldn't call it the servicedesk!!!) again and then meet another gentleman. This gentleman was if possible even more arrogant and rude than the one I met before my round. He didn't even want to answer my question !!!!!
It is really a shame that this club provides its visitors with such a horribly bad service. The course itself is in good shape and really fun to play. I would say that such a good course deserves much better people to look after it and to run it than what I actually has today

golf course is splendid, well manicured
and has aged to it. Tee boxes are all flat and tees are changed daily. Fairways are like carpet, pre rough is cut to european standard. bunkers could do with a bit more sand, but this is very personal whilst green are immaculate. All in all if you are after a very nice golf course near Malaga, then don't go anywhere.
However do not expect any kind of services whatsoever, from reservation, welcome, on the course, and Bar the service is a word unknown at Torrequebrada. pathetic really and shameful. i am not going to give you details but golf is about communicating and networking....obviously they have not heard these words overthere!!

To be honest, this is one of the best golf course near Malaga. Mature, well maintained, manicure. Tee boxes are all flat, fairways are immaculate and green are extremely fast and true to the lines. The only downside to this golf course is the people that work there to be honest. We were a party of 7 welcomed by a Dutch man not even looking at us and asking "who are you"? in a very rude way. The rest of his interaction with us was on the level. He asked us to go and get the buggies from the caddy master....got their and the caddy master told us to get the one in front of the Pro shop. Out of 4 buggies, one had the sat nav not working and one died on the 16 hole. When we got back to the clubhouse and complaint we were told that it was our fault as we should have phoned them and let them know.....in insight she was right, however customer care is paramount to the experience and Torrequebrada is a Pit for it? THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU!
So, if you are in for a very nice round of golf and be treated like S..t then it is the place to go. In all fairness they are so many other golf courses around the area that you will have ample choice for much better experience. Rio Real and Malaga CC are two other nearby that we recommend.

Played March 2013. Course is difficult and a real test. If your hitting a ball well youll love it. Iwas so I thought the course is probably the best I've played. Conditions greens, fairways and scenery were great. Lots of hazards, different elevations and a real test. A bit pricey in March but play early for a bargain. Recommended if your playing well.

What a surprise! Wasn't expecting anything like it. Great layout ( you get to play all your clubs! A thinking mans course, superb carpet like fairways and true fast greens. Such a good change from the overly long wham bam golf courses usually found in the area where you usually hit a driver and then a wood or long iron. This course is what a true golf course should be! Can't praise it enough. ( I play off 2 handicap and have played courses around the world ; this one is like playing a Maui course in Hawaii it's that good! )

Great course, nicely looked after, challenging and well manucured. Not the most welcoming of all, but this was the global impression we had from all golf courses on the Costa del Sol. Fantastic food at the restaurant...best ever Gold medal for their Club sandwich! Ole!

Played this course for the second year running in first week of March and have to say we were very impressed. I don't recognise the course from the previous reviewer, so something must have drastically changed. The greens were very good, fairways, tees and bunkers well kept. The welcome was extremely friendly - complimetary coffee on arrival, range balls thrown in for free, buggies included and a prize for the winner of our 16 thrown in after the event.
No hesitation in recommending to others

we played this course at the end of September last year, and were very disappointed. I organise a trip every year, and it was embarrassing when i admitted that this was the course i had paid the most for...by a long way. For whatever reason it was in very poor condition. It's a good course layout and in good condition it might be worht the price (but even then i don't think so). But the condition was so poor, I didn't get the impression this was going to be any time soon. Also they were inflexible about refunds when someone dropped out at the last minute. All the other courses simply made us pay for those people we had, but the attitude at the place was very much "those our our rules...tough!"

Great Course would play this seven days a week far better than rio real which was way too crowded. Fairways and greens in excellent condition unlike previous reviews of course. Course marshall great guy happy to chat about the course and its history and general info on the course. If you are a big hitter there are plenty of holes to let rip while for the accurate golfer the greens are well watered so the ball sticks and then run like glass. Enjoyed it so much played it twice where they gave us boys a 20 euro discount for coming back. Would catch a plane and go back on it tomorrow.

This used to be my favourite course on the coast but unfortunately it's gone back a bit. It's a good layout with a variety of holes but is let down by condition. To be fair they've spent a bit of money on a new irrigation system and it may take a bit of time to take effect. It's worth playing but not the best value available.

The last course we played and all 6 of us said it was the best of the week, an older course which has had the time to bed down, the best fairways of the week, the greens were very slow as they are letting then grow to protect them, otherwise a must play course, only other problem we found on a saturday you can't get breakfast before 10.30 ? other than that you must play it
