About the golf course
Santa Maria Golf is widely recognised for its hospitality, the professional quality of its staff and the continual improvement of its facilities. Located in the incomparable beauty of the Andalusian mountains, Santa María meanders through a valley following its contours and is surrounded by natural vegetation made up of pines, oaks, cork oaks, olive trees and small stream through much of the course.
The front nine is a more demanding challenge with three par5 holes, while the inward half with three par3 holesis more forgiving and has more recovery holes.

Best Quality -Value in 4 courses placed. Dona Julia, Marbella (Higuron), Valle Romano and Santa Maria.
Overall good but very mountainous course.
Should have researched flatter courses in Costa del sol.
Overall golf in Costa del sol is more expensive than in North America in terms of quality-price ratio.

Not played the course in a few years but was impressed by the way it has been upgraded both on and off the course . The quality is much improved and the course in good condition and the bar and restaurants far better, and this is a course to return to.
