Campo Asia was the last of the La Cala courses we hadn’t played. Good track (like the other two). Important to get a drive away or I can understand why some mid/higher handicappers would struggle round here. Greens were nice. A couple of slow groups ahead which meant a +5 hour round, which although frustrating tends to happen from time to time. Definitely worth playing, moreso for those with a handicap of around 16 or less. La Cala a pretty safe bet.

You always know what you're getting when you go to La Cala. This resort is run so effectively that everyone there makes it look so easy, but you know that they work incredibly hard to make your visit a good one. We played Campo Asia which is my personal favourite. An ability to play strategically is imperative. Get in the correct position off the tee and the hole will be much easier, but if you're wayward you're suddenly up against it. A fun challenge. Course and greens were in excellent condition for mid June. Food and service in the clubhouse were first rate. Very quick service and our attentive waiter appeared without prompting just as were ready for our second drink.

Asia et Europa joués cette années. Beaux parcours mais décevants par leur difficulté et les distances énormes à parcourir entre les trous et du clubhouse au tee 1 de Europa !

Great service from the team in Golf in Spain to start the whole booking. So simple and easy to book and the communication on the booking from the team was first class. Will always use and already looking to book for 2027.

Asia and Europa pretty challenging, our group handicaps 9. 12 and 14. We could cope and some great holes, the 3rd on Europa a bit daunting. Rounds a bit slow, lots of golfers looking like they are using 20 balls a round. Holes cut to protect edges, too many lip outs rather than lip ins. Fun though and we enjoyed the challenge.

Played the Asia course, well impressed. The course is very well designed with a good element of difficulty. We will definitely return to plate the Americas and Europa courses.

I have played La cala often and I am impressed by the changes being made with scrub cleared and the course tidied up. The greens however were as bad as I have seen and not up to their normal standard. Possibly with the changes being made they also will improve.

Enjoyed Asia Course. Very nice and played well. However, Europa Course was a huge disappointment. Course was not well maintained - reminded me very much of playing Antequera. Not worth the money at all.

Played all 3 courses while in the area, the Europa on day one, pace of play only just acceptable, the Ranger did speak to us and apologised for the pace of play citing a ladies outing and said they asked them to skip a hole to speed play up, course was in good condition, not great good. Popped in for a refreshment following our round, sat for over 15 minutes waiting for service then the waiter walked straight past us to a table of about 8 women behind us so we left, can get a drink elsewhere and given it was €32 for 3 waters and 3 snack bars before our round we figured it would have been cheaper elsewhere anyway. Day 2 the Asia course, worst course I’ve ever had the misfortune to play, 5 1/2 hours of misery, watching players wander back and forth aimlessly, lining up every putt on greens that honestly were so bad they had very little chance anyway, worst greens I think I’ve ever played on. Definitely one to avoid, didn’t bother again with drinks after this one. Day 3 the Americas course, were really looking forward to this one, have to say the course was in good condition but we only played 14 holes of it, that took us 4 1/2 hours and when it started raining and we found ourselves now waiting in the rain for the group ahead to play their approach shots 100 yards after waiting on the green to clear 250 yards ahead we had had enough. It appears what was once a great resort course is now nothing more than a golden goose for the owners and they’re not caring how long it takes to play or the conditions of the course, awful experience all in all, avoid they’re a better, much better in the area.

Hilly, few houses. Of the three La Cala courses, Europa largest fairways, greens, flatter but river & doglegs. Need buggy due to distance between holes. Course was in good condition, nice course.

We played Twilight, Buggy + Dinner on Europa course - easy start at hole 1, difficulties at 2 (you don't see the ball coming to rest) - and dramatically losses at 4 (you play twice over the river) - but it continued better than on other places with nice Fairways on up and downs and good putting greens. In summery: also in loss of a couple of balls - you can play Pars & Birdies there - and have a perfect dinner included to cheer up your success. Conclusion: go for this offer!

The booking service with Golf in Spain was excellent and so professional. The golf at La Cala (all 3 courses) was brilliant. The Asia greens were not in the best condition but the course was a joy to play. The staff at La Cala from the pro shop to buggy service and bar was just fantastic. They know what great customer service is about and nothing was to much trouble. It made for a really great golfing experience so please let them know and share this feedback. Cant wait to go back at the same time next year. I will definitely be booking with Golf in Spain.

We played the Europa course. By far the best course we played. Some amazing holes with the fairways and greens in top condition. The rough can be a bit challenging but it will encourage the average golfer to hit a bit straighter. The club house is amazing with great views of the course. I would 100% recommend this course and I am sure the other two courses are just as good.

In first week of August we played: La Cala Europa&America, Marbella golf club, Calanova, Los Arqueros, Santa Marija, Cabopino, Alcaidesa (Hcp 13,18,22,25). Here are the reviews: La Cala Europa&America: 5, Marbella golf club 5+, Calanova: fairways 4, forgreen 3-, greens 3 (hairy) , Los Arqueros: 4,3 (good greens), Santa Marija: fairways 4, greens 3- (soft, soft, soft, hairy, nothing to compare to other courses, couldn’t putt). Even shorter course now. I was skeptic, but the stuff said we can play with buggies at 17 p.m. because we will easily come around. We had lots of traffic on the way but still make it on time. Because we finished after 9 p.m. the stuff said directly that this was the last time we did something like that…. WTF. Will not play it again but not because of this misunderstanding. A place for older or higher Hcp with nice club house), Cabopino: if La Cala is 5 I give it 4,3 like Los Arqueros (on La Cala they did really good job), Alcaidesa: If Cabopino and Los Arqueros are 4,3 it should be 4 ( a bit dry but good greens), but then Calanova and specialy Santa Marija should desert 2/3. Don’t get me wrong but La Cala and Marbella golf club were perfect, usually Los Argueros and Cabopino shuld recive 5 for such condition. I was surprised on golf courses that they war in such good condition in summer. BTW we play a lot on “costa” in all seasons. Oh, accept La Cala and Marbella they will have to work on sends some more!!!

Played América in March 2013: fairways and semi-rough in bad condition with large areas of very little grass. Management of the club quite unwilling to accept the problem claiming that it was due to periods of heavy rain (despite the fact that other courses in the area did not have the same problem). La Cala has a high reputation but in March 2013 is was definitely not worth the relatively high green fee, and the management was quite arrogant about the problem.

We played the three courses. Asia is the shortest and accuracy is at a premium. America is longer and very challenging, again demanding accuracy. Europa is wider with bigger greens. A real delight for all golfers. Many of the holes require good course management. The views are spectacular so don't forget to bring a camera. Nice clubhouse with friendly staff and reasonable prices. I will be going back.

Played all the courses, well manicured greens receptive but superbly true and fast.. Europa very tight. Challenging carries on most holes, the ladies have less to carry but can still have a challenging round especially hole 4 on the Europa. The food and drink are a bit pricey. If you want a fantastic meal with great service check out El Jinete which is a restaurant on the way up to La Cala after the Santana turn off on the right (looks a bit like a farm house). We ate their twice, but if we had discovered it earlier on our trip they would have seen us most evenings.

Played the south (Asia) course, very hilly but not impossible (a buggy is a definate) fantastic views of the surrounding area, some of the tee shots have got the most dramatic backdrop you ever likely to see. The couse was in excellent condition and I would definately go back, the only problem is which course to play ? If you can afford it play all 3.

Good testing courses with a good mix of short and long holes. Hitting straight is a must though as the deep rough tends to keep any wayward shots. Greens generally are in very good condition with some very quick greens especially on the south course. Can be a little slow as buggies are compulsary and it can take time to walk from your buggy to the ball and back but well worth a go.

Fantastic! Some really well designed holes that will test most golfers. Nice thing is that quite a few can be parred by the average golfer. That said, if you're not on your game, you'll lose a few balls in the process. Slightly over marshalled but a great day out all the same, and good value, especially as they've got a great deal on for the summer.

Beleive me I've played some golf in Spain but nothing beats La Cala. A hilly course and a buggie is essential but don't let that put you off both the North and the South Courses are in immaculate condition and they are stunning. The course staff keep the golf moving without being overbearing. A must for anyone visiting the area.

PLayed both the North and South courses over the Christmas break - WoW - these are tough courses - North very hilly, both enjoyable, well managed etc. You need the included buggy!!! Hotel v. nice, and staff a pleasure. Only downer was the over marshalling - and the top ones are miserable, the more junior ones pleasant chaps.... go, enjoy, rest afterwards! (PS take plenty of balls on the South course!)
