About the golf course

Los Arqueros is the first golf course designed by Severiano Ballesteros on the Costa del Sol in 1991. The 18 hole championship course varies with contrasting landscapes including three lakes.

In the last years all efforts have focused to obtain the environmental certificate (ISO 14.001), Health & Safety (OHSAS 18.001) and Quality (UNE 188.001), thus positioning Los Arqueros probably among the very few golf courses in Spain to have achieved it.

A Great Layout, the greenkeeeping had obviously a difficult year. We‘re looking forward to the next season and are sure they get back to their former excellent standard. Clubhouse is worth a visit anytime.

Excellent set up and lovely clubhouse and practice facilities. We were advised to take a buggy as it was so hot. The starter was nice and gave some tips. Its a very tight course and any stray drives a punished by various ravines and trees. Its worth playing safe off the tee as lots of par4s will still be a mid-iron in to the green. The 3rd is a beautiful hole, driving over the water on the left. The 7th is a nice long par 5 which is a dog-leg right. Worth laying up on this as its a very tight approach. The course was in excellent condition and greens very true. They were slower than expected for this time of year but still very good. Its a course that you have to be careful but does give a few opportuntiies to open the shoulders off and hit driver off the tee, especially the back nine. You'll hit every club in your bag, playing a variety of shots, and require a strong short game to make a good score. Good luck.

What a fantastic course offering a fair test of golf. All aspects of the course were maintained to a high standard. A few holes that can be too challenging until you know exactly where to place the tee shots. Lost quite a few balls but worth it. Definitely return in the future,

In first week of August we played: La Cala Europa&America, Marbella golf club, Calanova, Los Arqueros, Santa Marija, Cabopino, Alcaidesa (Hcp 13,18,22,25). Here are the reviews: La Cala Europa&America: 5, Marbella golf club 5+, Calanova: fairways 4, forgreen 3-, greens 3 (hairy) , Los Arqueros: 4,3 (good greens), Santa Marija: fairways 4, greens 3- (soft, soft, soft, hairy, nothing to compare to other courses, couldn’t putt). Even shorter course now. I was skeptic, but the stuff said we can play with buggies at 17 p.m. because we will easily come around. We had lots of traffic on the way but still make it on time. Because we finished after 9 p.m. the stuff said directly that this was the last time we did something like that…. WTF. Will not play it again but not because of this misunderstanding. A place for older or higher Hcp with nice club house), Cabopino: if La Cala is 5 I give it 4,3 like Los Arqueros (on La Cala they did really good job), Alcaidesa: If Cabopino and Los Arqueros are 4,3 it should be 4 ( a bit dry but good greens), but then Calanova and specialy Santa Marija should desert 2/3. Don’t get me wrong but La Cala and Marbella golf club were perfect, usually Los Argueros and Cabopino shuld recive 5 for such condition. I was surprised on golf courses that they war in such good condition in summer. BTW we play a lot on “costa” in all seasons. Oh, accept La Cala and Marbella they will have to work on sends some more!!!
