Located north of Lisbon, this region has gained popularity among golf enthusiasts thanks to its top-tier courses, a privileged natural setting along the Atlantic, and a wide range of accommodation options. Just over an hour north of Lisbon, Praia D’El Rey Golf & Beach Resort has established itself as one of the most recognized resorts in the region. While it currently doesn’t have its own hotel, plans are in place for the opening of a five-star hotel in 2025, which will undoubtedly add a new level of luxury to the resort experience. Its more inland location, away from the coast, also provides a shelter from the usual wind in the area, allowing for a more stable and comfortable round of golf.

Additionally, Royal Óbidos deserves a mention, featuring an interesting golf course design and a 5-star boutique hotel complemented by villas overlooking the golf course.

A bit further to the north and no longer part of Óbidos, Dolce Camporeal is another resort in the area with a rural hotel style, offering an experience for players looking for a quieter stay, without necessarily having as much variety of courses.

Óbidos has solidified its reputation as an essential golf destination in Portugal, with options ranging from spectacular coastal courses like Praia D’El Rey and West Cliffs, to more design-focused and tranquil resorts like Bom Sucesso or Camporeal. Each offers a distinct experience, catering to both players and those seeking a relaxing getaway in an unparalleled setting.
