Los Lagos is a course suitable for players with a large, strong swing, but it also demands great concentration to avoid the obstacles. Los Olivos is a course best suited for iron and short game players.
The courses, Los Lagos and Los Olivos, are situated in the valley of Mijas, north of Fuengirola, only twenty minutes from the Málaga international airport and Marbella, and 3.5 kms. from the sea.
Los Lagos presents wide fairways, with numerous lakes -hence its name-, the water hazards which one finds at the 9th and 18th holes and also the many trees which are strategically placed to protect the large greens.
Los Olivos lies in a smaller peace of land, and has different characteristics to his brother. The greens are smaller with undulations and well protected by bunkers. Also, it has a large number of olive trees strategically situated around the fairways, which demand a strong and straight drive from the player.
Both courses pay homage to the architect's philosophy 'difficult Par, easy Bogey' -, with very little rough, plenty of water and relatively flat.
Played Los Lagos, very good course lots of water to catch the wayward shots, sat nav in the buggies which is fun, greens were superb, generally a good days golf, although the fairways were a bit long, great clubhouse. worth a visit.
Two fantastic courses and superb practice facilities(large putting green, chipping green and driving range) make this a must play if you're in Costa del Sol. Sat Nav buggy's too, so no yardage(meterage) guess work! Play these two courses every year we go there. Class.
Played both courses. Highly enjoyable, Los Lagos probably the better course, but not by much. Good value. Buggies have GPS which is an entertaining gimic.
