Great course with a lot of character. Challenging par 3s and some gettable par 5s. It is an annual trip for us.. Staff is fantastic and good food.

Course is ok. Some challenging holes. Not easy to lose a ball unless you leave the fairway. After that, good luck.
The price was too much for the condition but unfortunately all courses in this area are expensive.

Atalaya Golf Club is a glaring example of a golf destination resting on its laurels, relying solely on its location and reputation to attract visitors while neglecting the very basics of service and quality.
Let’s start with the staff: it’s abundantly clear that guest experience is not a priority here. From the clubhouse to the course marshals, there’s little to no effort made to ensure players feel welcome or valued. The attitude seems to be, “You’re here, so we don’t need to try.” It’s disappointing, especially considering the premium price tag.
As for the courses, the Old Course is decent—perhaps even enjoyable on a good day. It has some charm and history, which might justify its place in the area’s golf scene. However, the New Course is a complete disaster. Poorly maintained, uninspired in design, and with fairways and greens that feel like an afterthought, it’s a waste of time and money. It’s as if they’ve given up on even trying to make it respectable.
What’s frustrating is that they continue to raise prices while letting the quality slip. There’s no investment in maintaining or improving the courses, no care in the details that make a golf experience special, and no effort to create an atmosphere where guests feel appreciated.
In summary, Atalaya Golf Club is a disappointment. While the Old Course might be worth a round, the lack of service, the deteriorating standards, and the abysmal state of the New Course make it hard to recommend. There are far better options in the region that offer both quality and hospitality—this isn’t one of them.

Golf course in spectacular surroundings, greens were in excellent condition. You have to keep the ball very strait and you need to know, where to play it. We lost balls that were played in the middle of the fairway but then rolled away somewhere. Not too much fun, when good shots are not rewarded.
