Played here a couple of times now and enjoyed it yet again. Not the cheapest course around but better than some in the area. Course was in good condition although the pin positions made it a difficult round, although not to the point of ruining the enjoyment. Buggys had to stick the paths (not 90 degs rule) but means the fairways were excellent. Clubhouse has no area to sit outside and enjoy a relaxing drink afterwards is the only downside to this course for me

Played here April 13. Having not played here for a number of years was pleasantly surprised - course was in excellent condition; green were lush and receptive and tee's were in good condition bearing in mind the high season - only complaint about the course was the loose mowings on some of the fairways but apart from that thoroughly enjoyed the round. Food excellent and reasonably priced in the bar too - well worth a visit

This is a beautiful course laid out through the forests outside of Girona. The condition of the tees, fairways, greens and rough are unsurpassed for a public course. The course is very highly rated, but it is not for the over 18 handicapper. In my book, a great course should be playable and fun for all levels and this course isn't.
I advise you to take a cart as its is long, very undulating and with most tees being elevated to enhance the views, you are climbing on nearly every hole.
The whole set up is superb, with one of the best practice areas that I have ever seen. Club house is laid back and the pro shop excellent.
Bring plenty of balls and hope that the wind doesn't blow....

we were a group of golfers, we have been playing in some golf courses, el paraiso has been one of the best, state of fairways in good condition, the greens fast and perfect, one of the fastest we've played .... generally all fantastic, we will come back again.

A very interesting an challenging course.
Putting is an art on these very fast greens. Clubhouse is bright and fits well in the surroundings. the only big disappointment is that the lakes are either empty or only a 1/3 full. If you like a challenge go for it.

April 14th 2013. A group of 6 played Santana twice in the last week. We also played here once last year. It is one of the better courses around and I don't understand a comment made in another review saying it is in the middle of a halted development - in fact it is in a totally rural area with the odd house visible. Mostly mountain views. The course was in good condition, the greens a bit grainy (and slow) for us, maybe as we played in the afternoon the grass had grown a bit. We played off the back tees and managed to shoot scores a few off out handicaps. The rough was punishing and we wondered why it was so long. Also there was certain rough areas with unusual "spongy" grass we had never encountered and found it difficult to play from. Staff very good and helpful.and helpful, certainly recommend if you are in the area.

Played América in March 2013: fairways and semi-rough in bad condition with large areas of very little grass. Management of the club quite unwilling to accept the problem claiming that it was due to periods of heavy rain (despite the fact that other courses in the area did not have the same problem). La Cala has a high reputation but in March 2013 is was definitely not worth the relatively high green fee, and the management was quite arrogant about the problem.

Lovely course, in spite of the blustery conditions, managed to break 90. Only down side a strange occurrence that happened on the sixth hole. Some dippy Doris on a golf buggy drove right across the fairway and ran over my ball! The silly blonde tart didnt have a care in the world as she just drove across the fairway! I managed to par the sixth in the end, not a problem. Despite this incident, I would really recommend this course!

Lots of great courses on the Costa del Sol. This isn't one of them. Group of 8 of us, held back on first tee (which is as shabby as we've ever seen - not a blade of grass) by the monthly medal in front. Waited one hour before we got an open fairway. Weather was poor but that shouldn't cause the bunkers to lose their sand, tee boxes were minisclue and there were boggy patches in many unexpected places. After 8 holes at funereal pace we were asked to play holes 19-27 instead of the 10th to 18th. That was the only good decision of the day - we would probably still be there if we hadn't swapped. The back nine was ok. Not up with some of the better courses but acceptable and made the front nine feel even worse. We'll be back to Spain but not back to Lauro

Played March 2013. Course is difficult and a real test. If your hitting a ball well youll love it. Iwas so I thought the course is probably the best I've played. Conditions greens, fairways and scenery were great. Lots of hazards, different elevations and a real test. A bit pricey in March but play early for a bargain. Recommended if your playing well.
